Back in Tahoe

Just back from a short vacation in Tahoe with our group of friends. Grey Grey did great on the drive up, but, as expected, presented us with numerous sleep battles when we got there. It was a little worse this time because not only was he adjusting to a new environment, and having all this favorite people in one place, he was also adjusting to his new Peapod Plus. It's basically a child-size tent with an inflatable mattress in it. Anyway, he wouldn't let us zip it up, so we kept it open and there was one night when he was up from 1am to 330am just wandering around the room. Over the course of our stay, he threw a nap, woke up crazy early, and took a long time to go down every time. That being said, I have to say that there wasn't any bothersome crying like there used to be when he was little. In fact, sleeplessness aside, it was funny to be woken up by him standing by our bedside going, "Hiiiii, sweetheart." It just makes me sad that my son has not inherited his father's ability to sleep anywhere. As long as something is different, or the slightest noise occurs, our boy is up. He is just like his mother.

Highlights of our trip include: Greyson and Ollie's first kiss, the time when Amy walked out of her room in a spaghetti strap tank top and Greyson said, "Amy naked!", swimming at the rec center, Amy's delicious beef tacos, Roque and Arvin's morning out on their own with the kids, Uncle Bibi's newfound grilling skills and Greyson's newly-acquired greeting, "Hiiiiiii!". Till next year....
