Country Club Living

The weather has been spectacular, mid 70's to 80's during the day. Today, we went to visit the private beaches of Incline Village: Burnt Cedar Beach and Incline Beach. It was morning when we went and the lake was still. I finally understand what the fuss is about. Lake Tahoe is completely breath-taking. As we drove up, I couldn't believe my eyes. The view was incredible, the lawns manicured, the sand pale and powdery. There was actually someone in a little vehicle "combing" the sand. There is a playground, swimming pools and snack bar by the beach. We feel like we're in a country club. I am jealous of all the moms who live here. I'd hang out all day at the playground if I had a view like this to look at.

Greyson is having such a good time. For an outdoorsy kid, Lake Tahoe is heaven. He wakes up in the morning, super charged for the day. It's like he knows we're on vacation and every day has a new and exciting activity in store. When he knows we're headed out, he'll stand at the door and say, "Go! Go!" This morning, we had just gotten to a restaurant for breakfast and after he demolished his blueberry oatmeal, he tugged at his bib and said, "All gah (done), go, Grey Grey's car, Grey Grey's car seat, go." He was apparently ready to leave. Sometimes even when we're parked somewhere waiting in the car too long, he says, "Go!"

We pretty much spent the entire day at the beach. We tried to get Grey to walk barefoot on the sand but he was not pleased in the slightest. Our kid just hates to get dirty. The water although crystal clear, was pretty cold, and it took lots of cajoling from Papa to get him to loosen up and get his feet wet. Yesterday, when he got wet at the beach, he immediately complained, "Shirt wet! Pants wet! New shoes wet!" Today he kept dusting the sand off his hands, my slippers, his pants... it just bothered him. "Sand...crocs! Sand...crocs!" We also went swimming in the toddler pool by the beach and that he loved. He kept saying, "Swimmy pool!" When we had to leave, he burst into tears (we've been getting a lot of that lately) and sobbed, "Buh bye, swimmy pool!"

Wow! :) Lake Tahoe is indeed breath taking! :) Maybe we should do our weekend getaway there instead of Sta Cruz? What do you think?
