Halloween With A Four-Year-Old

Halloween was awesome. Every year the fun level gets upped a notch. This year, Greyson was completely swept up in every intelligent way by all the Halloween excitement. He came home from school with numerous Halloween crafts. One day he started making a "brew" with a bunch of dominoes, a wooden spoon and a bowl. The other day he said, "Ma, where's our pumpkin?" From a family trip to the pumpkin patch, to a spooky parade at school, to trick-or-treating with friends and family...Greyson had a blast.























Last year he had no preference in costume, and I think he wore it for all of 15 minutes. This year, he had specifications; he wanted to be a red clock tower with a green steeple and a clock on the front that's set to six o'clock. Luckily, he has a creative and doting father who spent several late nights building this costume. It was a giant success. The best part was Greyson's reaction to it. He wore that thing at school like he was royalty, he was so proud of his costume. I was so glad that Roque took the time to make that vision come true for him. The days our children will wear the costumes we make them are numbered. We squeezed Ella into the costume that I made for Greyson for his first Halloween. She's older than he was when he wore it, so it was kind of busting at the seams.






























Trick-or-treating was a thrill this year, and having his cousins Devon and Rene, and buddies like Kadin, Ellie, Olivia and Evelyn there to share it with him, just made this day.
