Boy Wonder

It's Halloween. Greyson is going as the Boy Wonder. For those of you who, like me, know little about comics, the name of Robin's alter ego is Dick Grayson. It's part of the reason why Roque loves the name. When Grey was born, one of Roque's comic book geek friends sent us this costume but our boy was too little for it last Halloween. Anyway, Roque was so excited to put him in it this year, he even went out and bought a Batman shirt because, "Robin is no one without Batman." Sadly, the costume that was too large last year is too small this year. We had to put a pair of pants on him because we couldn't button the suit at the crotch. It's amazing to see these two pictures side by side. A little over a year ago, I was slaving nights with my new sewing machine, determined to make my baby his first Halloween costume. One year later, our boy is still a wonder to us.We went to a Halloween party with one of our playgroups. Grey had another crazy nap day (he's transitioning to one nap) and of all days, today he decides he needs two. We ended up having to wake him up from his second and he was cranky and tired for most of the party. Nonetheless, we got some good pictures and had fun reconnecting with the other families there. My friend Hai-Nhu and her baby Evelyn were there as well. Greyson and Evelyn have shared some or our favorite photos together. It's fun to see them side by side again. They've both changed so much, it's incredible to see the difference a year makes.

My niece and nephew had the best costumes ever. My supermom sister made them. Natalie was a cloud, and Aidan was soft serve ice cream. The crown on Nally's head is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Check out those chocolate chips. My sister is teaching her children so much about how the best things in life are made with your own hands. Brilliant execution, Jie.

You beat me to it! (Blogging about the party yesterday, that is). It was great seeing you guys last night... it's been too long! It's true, both the kids have grown and changed so much since they last saw each other, and it was nice to see them side by side again. We know they've certainly had their little special moments together...
Nice handmade costumes (all 3 of them!). Way to raise the bar for the rest of us, you guys... :)
Hey we made your blog! got lots of compliments on Halloween but yours meant the world.
So cute to see the 2 superheroes together : )
cheers,
