Happy Birthday Nally and Grey!

Yesterday, we went to my sister's to do a combo-celebration of my niece, Natalie's and Greyson's birthday. Natalie was born on July 4th, she is six years old this year, and Greyson will be two in two weeks. We don't venture down to my sister's very often, and yesterday was the first time Greyson had been there in almost six months. This time, our very verbal son quickly learned to call his Ah Ee (my sister), Noch Noch (my brother-in-law, Enoch) and cousins Nally and Aidan by name. He's older now, and he's starting to make more sense of relationships. It's amazing to see. We swam in "Ah Ee's swimmy pool" where he blew lots of bubbles, floated around and snacked on plums from Ah Ee's plum trees. We sat in the hot tub where he was completely enamored with the "waterfall", fancy lights and bubbles. As he gets older, I know that Ah Ee's house will be a place he will want to visit often. It is a wonderland for a kid his age, and has every amenity that we cannot afford to pay a monthly club fee for. Nally and Aidan were incredibly sweet to Greyson. They greeted us at the door with presents and were excited to see us open them for him. It was just a wonderful feeling to see the children together and know that they are cousins. They are related by blood and nothing can change that. No matter how tough it is for my sister and I to get on the same page, we have to try for the sake of our children. Thanks Ah Ee and Noch Noch for a wonderful birthday dinner. Hopefully we can continue to make our two families feel more like one.



In this video, Greyson specifically calls his Ah Ee out to clap for him. It's not a big deal to some, but for Greyson, it's his way of including a person in his special circle, and it's lovely to see.
