Hair Police

In the the 7.5 years that Roque and I have been married, I have always been outspoken about my preference for a clean-shaven husband. Facial hair has never been my thing, so it was to my great delight when Greyson joined forces with me and started to express a similar preference. He is extremely quick to call out when his Papa is "rough." A typical conversation at bedtime goes like this:

Me: "Goodnight, Grey Grey."
Roque: "Goodnight, Grey Grey."
(Kisses and hugs)
Greyson: "Papa "rough", shave tomorrow!"

Roque seems more responsive to Greyson's nagging than he used to be to mine. Grey Grey will watch Roque shave in the mirror, then he'll use his hand and simulate the gesture going from his neck up. He'll say, "Papa shave off all the white!" (the white being shaving cream.) When Roque's done, he'll let Greyson touch his cheek and ask him if he's still rough, and Grey will stroke his cheek thoughtfully and deliver a verdict. Sometimes it's "Smooth now!", other times it's "A lil' bit rough!" and I'll hear Roque go, "Still?"
