Halloween with a Three-Year-Old
Fabulous Halloween. What a difference a year makes. Last year, Greyson was cooperative, but clueless. This year, because he had all this prep at school, he was into everything. Having a three-year-old around during the holidays is just so much fun. He helped Papa scrape out his pumpkins, he saw me cut bats out of paper and insisted on his own scissors so he could "help", he helped Roque cover our ivy outside with cobwebs and mow the lawn. He was adorably curious and had to have his hand in everything. He chose his costume himself and proudly wore it as we trick-or-treated on our street. We had "open house" for friends and everyone coming to our area to enjoy the West Portal festivities. It was so much fun. We had droves of kids come by from 6-9pm. Greyson just loves parties. He absolutely loved giving out candy, racing to the door and cheering, "Trick or treat!" and "Happy Halloween" to every trick-or-treater that came. He was the perfect host, introducing everyone to everyone. He actually brought one of Roque's coworkers into my mom's room and said, "Ah Ma, this is my friend Jeremy." He had just met him. At one point, he introduced a friend of ours to my mom saying, 'This is my friend, Ah Ma." I find as Greyson gets older, he loves the party scene more and more. It makes me want to have parties at our house more often for him to enjoy.
Here are photos and videos of our little dinosaur helping us prep for Halloween. There's a hilarious one with my mom speaking to him in Hokkien. For some reason, hearing Hokkien cracks him up. Not too many of the party itself, we were too busy have a good time.
